Place Portraits: Episode 3,Hebden Bridge

Exploring this quirky West Yorkshire town on analogue film

The concept

What happens when you explore a city, armed with an analogue camera, a roll of film and no plan? It was with that question in mind that our ‘Place Portraits’ series was born. After visiting Paris and Valencia respectively for Episode 1, we explored the West Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge in the UK for Episode 3.

The process

Episode 3 of Place Portraits adopts the same ‘vlogging’ style of the series. Through a series of pieces to camera and POV style video cut with the final analogue film photographs, the episode tells the story of a drizzly wander from rural countryside to quant and quirky town. The video was filmed in a single day, and edited into a short video for release on YouTube.

The outcome

The final video is a travel film-meets vlog-meets photo album. Building on Episode 1 and 2 of the series, this video introduces more about the history and story of Hebden Bridge, and has been well-received both on YouTube and Instagram.

“Stunning snaps from this episode. Enjoyed learning a bit about Hebden too – will definitely have to visit!”
